I thought I would

I thought I would complete this article....

It feels like yesterday that this site opened and the main purpose of the site was to write about and to discover the amazing PowerShot G7. Many were skeptical about this 10 MP camera with its small sensor, the noise will be to high, no RAW and so much more. Later Canon wrote, the G7 and the G9 were very important milestones in their most recent sales history.

Nearly two years later this site evolved into a global photographic community where photographers all over the world stop by to have a cup of coffee and to spend a few minutes in our friendly forum or people will come in to read an article or to read something new one of our photographers posted in the photographers blog.

And then during September 2008 a totally new generation of digital cameras were released and all we as enthusiast could do was to open our browsers every morning and to read yet another new announcement, new software, new accessories, new cameras and potential take overs.

Should I buy or should I place my “fortune” safely away under my bed, like my grandfather did or should I just go out and select one of these dream cameras?

New PowerShot G10

I hesitated to place this picture first, because of the selection cameras discussed in this small article, the G10 is the least exciting.

It has he same physical sensor size as the previous G7 and G10. The G7 was a 10 MP camera, the G9 is a 12 MP and now the G10 is a 16 MP camera.

When you take a close look at pictures of the G10 posted on the web, then one can see the camera quality is excellent, the OVF looks as if it can be a new design, the lens looks very well made and it has a high quality finish. The forum skeptics says, it will have noise, Canon might surprise us all with a photographers dream inside that innocent body.

I will continue later....

While working on my next blog I was thinking, what should I do with the previous blog?

I do not want to remove it because it does tell a story I think.

Lets put it this way, I think its now final, I will most probably not again own a Canon. I was really tempted by the G10 but the high pixel count sensor just did not do it for me.

In July this year I sold my LX3 to my brother in law after he saw the picture quality of this excellent camera. On my return home I replaced the LX3 with a 2nd hand G1 from Panasonic I saw. This I now replaced with the G11 from Canon. Yes it might sound much, but this is how I keep myself informed.....
